What is the difference between Xeomin and Botox?
Botox, although used as a name for all neuromodulators, is actually a brand name for Tox. Xeomin is the brand name of a neurotoxin with the active ingredient of botulinum toxin type A, the same active ingredient as Botox. The biggest difference is that unlike Botox, Xeomin is a purified protein-free of additives that act as preservatives and only has albumin added. With the absence of preservative proteins, the immune system is less affected and the body will be less likely to produce antibodies. As a result, the body does not grow resistance to treatment over time.
-
Is Xeomin a filler?
Xeomin is not a filler. It is an injectable neuromodulator derived from botulism toxin that is primarily used to temporarily soften the appearance of wrinkles. It is injected into one’s muscles to decrease movement and reduce wrinkles, whereas filler is a hyaluronic acid-based gel that is injected to fill-out an area in the face.
-
How long does Xeomin take to show results, and how long does it last?
Xeomin typically starts working within three to five days days post-injection, with full results seen around the two-week mark. Each patient’s muscle movement is different, so individual results may vary.
-
How long does Xeomin last?
Xeomin peaks at 6 to 8 weeks and starts to slowly wean over 3 to 4 months. Each patient’s muscle movement is different, so individual results may vary.

What is microneedling?
Microneedling allows for controlled induction of the skin's self-repair mechanism by creating micro injuries to the skin that trigger new collagen synthesis. These treatments have a variety of benefits while also generally being less invasive than other aesthetic treatments with less downtime.
-
How is microneedling different from lasers?
Microneedling does not use a heat or light source to ablate the skin. It uses microneedles to injure the skin to stimulate collagen production. Laser therapy uses focused light energy to target specific structures of the skin. Although there are a variety of laser therapies that utilize different frequencies and depths, they all use light energy to ablate parts of the skin to stimulate collagen remodeling of the skin. Comparatively, Microneedling offers less downtime than laser treatments and is generally more easily tolerated than lasers.
-
What can microneedling do for my skin?
Microneedling with Collagen P.I.N. is FDA cleared as a treatment to improve the appearance of facial acne scars in adults 22 years and older. Since microneedling stimulates collagen production, patients may experience the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles, the improvement of hyperpigmented areas, overall skin tone and texture, as well as the reduction of acne scars.
-
How long is a microneedling treatment?
We recommend dedicating 90 minutes of time per microneedling treatment session. Numbing ointment is applied to the face first, which can take 40 to 45 minutes to take effect. The microneedling session itself takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. Adding exosome peels and/or hyaluronic cooling masks after treatment can add 5 to 10 minutes. Each session varies depending on the treatment area.
-
How often should I microneedle?
Typically, a series of three to six microneedling treatments spaced into four-week intervals is recommended, depending on the specific concern needing addressed. Once results are achieved, maintenance can be done one to two times per year up to quarterly.
-
Is microneedling painful?
A topical numbing ointment is applied prior to microneedling treatment to help minimize discomfort. Most clients report feeling minimal-to-no-pain during treatment. Your comfort is our number one priority, so all steps are taken to assure you feel safe and comfortable with the least amount of pain possible.
